UNIQA Life’s international voluntary medical insurance “Zdrave i Tsennost” is available in three levels of cover (three separate insurance products):
Basic cover – “Zdrave i Tsennost Select” – treatment for critical illnesses and surgical procedures;
Extended cover – “Zdrave i Tsennost Select Plus” – treatment and hospital stays due to illness, accident, pregnancy or childbirth;
Full cover – “Zdrave i Tsennost” – inpatient and outpatient treatment, with access to first-class medical care.
Where is this insurance valid?
For each of the insurance options above, you can choose cover for all of Europe, including Bulgaria, or worldwide cover. If an insured event occurs, the insured person may independently choose a medical facility in any country within the territorial scope of their policy.
Who can take out this insurance?
Foreign nationals with or without a Bulgarian personal number (EGN), as well as Bulgarian citizens. The insurance can be individual, family or group cover.
Are there age limits?
Yes. Insurance is available from birth until the age of 64.
What is the difference between the three levels of cover?
ZDRAVE I TSENNOST – comprehensive cover in Europe or worldwide. This is the broadest option: inpatient treatment (specialist consultations, hospital stay with meals and nursing care, operating theatre, prescription medicines; intensive care, resuscitation, diagnostic tests and procedures, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and oncology treatment, organ transplantation, childbirth); outpatient treatment (medical examinations with any specialists, medical tests, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and oncology treatment); childbirth (a lump-sum payment at birth); dental treatment; inpatient rehabilitation after hospital treatment; sanatorium treatment; rescue expenses for the insured person; psychotherapeutic treatment prescribed by a doctor; medical transportation and repatriation; and access to leading hospitals and medical facilities chosen by the insured person. ZDRAVE I TSENNOST SELECT – partial cover in Europe or worldwide. The insurance covers treatment for critical illnesses and surgical procedures, with very high limits for hospital treatment of 10 critical illnesses and surgical procedures: treatment of malignant tumours, benign tumours in the head, open and laparoscopic operations to remove histologically unproven tumours, carotid artery surgery, heart valve surgery, transplantation of the heart, lungs, liver, bone marrow for the treatment of leukaemia, and kidneys. It also covers the costs of an accompanying person during treatment of minors, transportation and treatment in a day hospital. ZDRAVE I TSENNOST SELECT PLUS – extended cover in Europe or worldwide. The insurance covers hospital treatment: specialist consultations, hospital stay with meals and nursing care, operating theatre, prescription medicines; intensive care, resuscitation, diagnostic tests and procedures, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and oncology treatment, organ transplantation, and childbirth (a lump-sum payment at birth). It also covers treatment in a day hospital, the costs of an accompanying person during treatment of minors, transportation and repatriation.
